Thank you to everything holy that the MacKenzies are a very large family with loads of hot men!! Liliana Hart has created a huge extended family that it dealt with in the tiniest way in this seventh MacKenzie family novella. Grant MacKenzie is one of a group (YAY!!! A new group!!!) of siblings that are cousins to Dane, Thomas, Riley and, Cooper MacKenzie. As is customary, Grant and his siblings have gathered at the old MacKenzie farmhouse for the holidays and though Grant loves his family, he has had all a single man can take.
Grant MacKenzie knows without doubt or hesitation that his future includes a wife and kids. He knows he wants these things sooner rather than later but the only woman he can see this happening with in Surrender is Annabeth Martin. Grant has known Annabeth for most of his life and has watched her grow up alongside his sister, Darcy. Though Annabeth seems more reserved than Darcy, she is younger than Grant and he is sure she is nowhere near ready for the type of life he is after. Unfortunately, Grant can’t seem to stop thinking about Annabeth when he is awake and sleep doesn’t help either since she keeps starring in his naughty dreams. What is a man to do??
Annabeth Martin has spent most of her life without a family of her own. Darcy MacKenzie’s family has always been there for her and though she has always been welcome at any and all family functions, Christmas is the one holiday Annabeth won’t crash. For reasons that are her own, Annabeth doesn’t do Christmas and this Christmas is no different. With the day off and no plans, Annabeth heads out to the pond on the MacKenzie’s property to ice skate. Unfortunately, the ice isn’t quite as solid as she though and fortunately, Grant is available to rescue her. As we all know, harrowing experiences have a tendency to bring to people together
The Bottom Line: This is another example of a MacKenzie getting shafted. Grant is the first of the cousin’s branch of the MacKenzie clan to get his own “book” and he just doesn’t get the story he deserves. Grant is such a sweet man and his desire for a wife and family of his own is heartwarming. Add to this the context of Christmas and the girl he truly desires falling into his hands and you have a mix of what should be a long and endearing read. Instead, A MacKenzie Christmas is a short and sweet sprint to the finish line.

A MacKenzie Christmas MacKenzies of Montana Book 5 edition by Liliana Hart Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
This is just a short story, but it is so good...and very hot! Grant MacKenzie is ready to settle down and get married. His business is doing well, but he's lonely and looking for a woman that can fill that void in his life. He wants it all...the wife and the children. Will he find that special woman here in town or will he have to move away for awhile in order to find himself that special woman to full fill all his wants and needs?
Great fast read.
Would I recommend this book? Yes, most definitely.
A cute story but very unbelievable. I downloaded this for free, and this is the first book I've read from this author. I liked the idea of the main characters realizing they'd been in love with each other all along. However, even if the characters have known each other forever, secretly been lusting after each other, etc., there is no way they would get engaged after one night together. And the hero just happens to have an engagement ring lying around?
Calling this short story a trinket by no means belittles this holiday tale. The H/h were relatable and fully identifiable. I adored Grant immediately. It took a little longer with Annabeth. I think because of no Christmas for 11 years. Come on ! Darcy, her best friend and neither the wild and impulsive bff and the overwhelming MacKenzie's could not bring her into the fold? That aside, the story was sweet and made my heart smile. Read this book for your self and then in the Spirit of Christmas (any time of the year) give it to a friend.
Grant MacKenzie is the oddball in his family- he is the only man who wants to get married. He also has an enormous interest on a woman. As he is walking in the woods on Christmas Eve he is presented with an amazing chance to get to know her better. Turns out she is very interested too!
Cons- this story is a bit egotistical. MacKenzie's ignoring his interest because he has decided she is needing to "sow her wild oats." It is also a very short story and somewhat unbelievable.
Pros- it is sweet and I'm always a sucker for the nice guy winning the girl of his dreams!
For lovers of this authors work this one will be sure to please. It's short, sweet, and has all the lusty love scenes that will warm a ladies or mans bed for the night. Definitely well written and the description of frosty snowy scenes make one shiver yet enjoy the winter scene. A little different than the usual plot of frustrated love, angst etc. that most of these sort of romance novels deliver. A nice interlude before the usual anticipated delivery of the next relative to hit the matrimonial trail. Well done mam, a nice surprise, may this be a new trend from the usual plot one expects in this genre. I give a 4.8 out of 5 on this one. As noted by others, immediate hot baths are not the cure for hypothermia and the ending is a little disjointed for these two characters.
Great length, got straight to the point. Loved how the author didn't make Grant go away like he was planning on doing. This saved us from a lot of heartbreak but still had enough angst to keep us wondering what will happen. And as he said, things happen for a reason. At first I was not thinking too much of the events in this way, but after Grant confirmed it, the story turned out extra nice because of it.
There was one thing that confused me and I could be completely wrong about this. But I really do not think a person suffering from hypothermia should be immediately immersed in hot water. Especially at the really hot temperature that was being described. I may be missing something here because I do not think someone would write about it without having good knowledge of the treatment. However, as far as I was taught in First Aid, placing a person with hypothermia directly into hot water is a major no no.
Other than that, it was a sweet story.
